State Significant Development Application

As part of the Eurobodalla Regional Hospital planning approval process, Health Infrastructure is required to lodge a State Significant Development Application (SSDA) with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.

The SSDA seeks approval for the construction and operation of a hospital in south-east Moruya that will service the needs of the Eurobodalla Shire community.

The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) contains detailed documentation about the project activities, any potential environmental impacts, and proposed mitigation measures. The EIS is part of the SSDA process.

The community were provided an opportunity to review the EIS documentation and provide feedback through the formal submission process.

The NSW Department of Planning and Environment has published all submissions online, and the Eurobodalla Regional Hospital project team are currently preparing a Response to Submissions Report.

The completed submissions report will be published on the NSW Department of Planning and Environment planning portal.

After publishing the submissions report, the NSW Department of Planning and Environment will complete its assessment of the merits of the project in accordance with government legislation, policies and guidelines and prepare an assessment report.

Once the SSDA has been assessed and approved, the main works contractor can be appointed, and construction of the new hospital can commence.
